Dead Ringers has a twisted sort of romance, but the movie on the whole is sort’ve creepy and gory, and may not be what you’re looking for.
I know that “And Now… Ladies and Gentlemen” and “Chinese Box” are romance films, but I’ve never seen them.
M Butterfly is a romance with a twist ending. XD
I’m pretty sure that House of the Spirits has a handful of romantic scenes. I might be getting what’s in the film and the book mixed up.
Swann in Love is a romance, AND he speaks in French the whole time. Good deal if you can find a copy.
The French Lieutenant’s Woman and Langrishe Go Down both have a romance scene or two in a very… British Period Piece sort of way.
